Opera Sang

Oral motor function and singing

The aim of this project is to elucidate whether training the muscles of the mouth and throat through classical singing can enhance speech and oral motor function in connection with eating.

Participants in the project are enrolled in a 6-month process in which they attend singing practice twice a week.

In collaboration with an occupational therapist, we specifically investigate improvements in relation to pronunciation, swallowing function and lung capacity, as well as the participants’ overall quality of life.
