ABOUT CEREBRAL PALSY

Cerebral palsy is caused by a brain injury that is congenital in more than 90% of cases. In Denmark, 110-130 children are born with CP each year.

Knowledge about the brain’s ability and capacity to change - called neuroplasticity - shows that the condition of cerebral palsy can be improved, but it requires specialized knowledge and the right methods.

It all began with Helene...

The Elsass Foundation owes its existence to a woman named Helene Elsass. Helene had cerebral palsy. She dedicated her entire fortune to the foundation in hope of helping others. We strive to live up to her wish every day; giving people with cerebral palsy and their families the best possible prospects to live their lives to the fullest.
